A Faithful Generation .....continued

What can we do as followers of Christ? St. Paul reminds us, in his letter to Timothy, to fan the gift that God has given us into flame. This is the gift of the Spirit of Christ. This is the Spirit that enables us to love one another intensely, because of our experience of God’s intense love for us revealed in Christ. So it is not enough to just read this message or hear more sermons. We have to begin to love our companions, our brothers, our sisters, our parents, our neighbours and even our enemies intensely enough to give our lives for them. This is the only way that we can change our world.

Can we be that generation that would set the world ablaze with love? Can we be that generation that would bring about a world of justice, of care for others, of love for all peoples of different race and culture? Do we have what it takes to do this? Christ, in today's Gospel, in responding to these questions, says: were your faith the size of a mustard seed, you could change the world. So, yes, we have, you have what it takes now to begin to change our world. So let us begin by loving and taking care of those we live with and then let this love extend to others.

Reiterating the prayer of today, let us always remember that the goodness of God in us is beyond what our spirit can touch; and the strength of God in us is more than our minds can bear.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER! LIT YOUR CANDLE THAT WE MIGHT SEE THE BEAUTY OF OUR WORLD!
