North-West Africa Province of the Society of Jesus

On February 12 members of the General Congregation gathered to celebrate the work of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS). Fratern Maswe, moderator of the African and Madagascar Assistancy concelebrated the mass with ( from left to right) Peter Balleis, international director of JRS; Peter-Hans Kovenbach; Fr. General; Luis Magrina, former international director of JRS; Mark Raper, first director of JRS (in photo at lectern); and members of the General Congregation who have served in JRS. Michael Kennedy, the delegate from the California Province and a former JRSer preached the homily (standing in front of the altar). The mass featured a multimedia display throughout the mass.
