- Among the Jesuit martyrs whose memorial was celebrated on 4 February was John de Brito, a Portuguese Jesuit who was martyred in Madurai, India. To commemorate this occasion the Provincial of Portugal (center) concelebrated Mass with the Provincial of Madurai (right) with the delegates of GC 35 in the Chapel of St. Francis Borgia.
