A visit with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart
- General Congregation 35 is over, but there is one thing I must do before leaving Italy. The Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who are in charge of Presentation National High School, next to our Novitiate in Benin City, have three sisters working in a centre for African immigrants outside of Villa Literno, just north of Rome. Many of the immigrants, who live at the centre or are beneficiaries of the services provided by the centre, are from Nigeria. There are also immigrants from Ghana, Sierra Leon and Liberia. I spent a day with the sisters, attending mass celebrated by the parish priest of the centre and meeting some of the immigrants. After two months in Italy, it was great to hear the congregation sing with such deep feelings, "What a mighty God we serve, what a mighty God we serve!"
