The second ANW Jesuit Mission Sunday took place at LUTH/CMUL Chaplaincy, June 17 2007.
It commenced with the 7am mass which was celebrated by the chaplain himself, Fr. Steve Astill, SJ. The latter also organised the event in collaboration with Kevin Odey, SJ, the director of development.
Present at the event were the following Jesuits: OT Jonah,
Dominofrank, John Aggrey, Peter Chidolue and Sebastine Adigwe.
Jerry Aman, SJ had hoped to celebrate the liturgy, preach and play the guitar, but he just could not make it due to a slight fever. Get well soon, Fr. Jerry. In the absence of Fr. Jerry, Fr. Steve Astill, SJ was both the chief celebrant and Homilist at the 7a.m mass.
The Responsorial Psalm and a communion song were taken by the soloist, Sebastine Adigwe, SJ. He sang so beautifully well.
The main speaker of the day was Kevin Odey, SJ, who held the entire church spell-bound with Eulogies, challenges, and above all the various needs of the ANW province.
The chief celebrant of the 9am mass was Fr. Uwem Akpan, SJ, a fellow of Michigan University.
The responsorial psalm once again was taken by Sebastine Adigwe
while the mission appeal was done in a grand style by Peter Chidolue, SJ, who captivated everyone with his appeal stories.
A special guest at that Mass was Erick Styles, SJ, a scholastic from Chicago province, who is currently visiting ANW province. Akwaaba! Welcome!
Other Jesuits present at the mass were: Steve Astill, Uwem Akpan, Kevin Odey, Ben Ebogu, Alex Irechukwu, Dominofrank, OT Jonah, John Aggrey, Peter Chidolue and Sebastine Adigwe.
The Suscipe was sung at both masses by all the Jesuits present.
