Regency is a terms that expresses the period of apostolic involvement by a Jesuit who has completed his first studies in the Society of Jesus. This is a significant period for Jesuits for it affords them the opportunity to put into practice all they have learned about the Society in the novitiate and the talents they have gained during the course of their first studies. Regency is also a period when a Jesuit feels a sense of actually being part of the Society’s mission of using every means necessary to save souls by leading them back to the Creator of all things.
