Some people choose to be brothers while others are asked by superiors, after carefully and prayerfully weighing the person’s talents and strengths, to be brothers in the Society of Jesus. Brothers in the Society are involved in most activities or ministries of the Society apart from celebrating Mass, hearing confessions, or blessing religious items. However, like their predecessor, Alfonso Rodriguez, brothers have done so many works quietly and have deeply influenced fellow Jesuits in spiritual matters for the salvation of their souls and the souls of others.
